FAQs
How do I book a session?
You can book a consultation via email, and you can also book directly into my calendar for a FREE 30-minute discovery call if we haven’t previously met to discuss your particular situation ahead of formally agreeing to work together. Please use this website and my Instagram page to get to know me a little and to understand the services and support I offer, then look at the packages I offer. At the discovery call, it is important that both you and your partner attend the call if booking for fertility nutrition.
Is this good value?
Investing in your health can never be a bad thing, and there is so much to gain. YOu will learn about your body and your uniqueness. You will discover the tools and resources that you already have and how to utilise them and be your very best self.
Specifically, Fertility Nutrition might look like a significant investment on paper. And you may ask yourself why you would spend this money when you could put it towards your next round of IVF. This is a valid question and one I am often asked.
IVF is a huge investment, and you usually only receive one round for free with NHS (this can depend on where you live). If the first round does not work, you can then expect to pay thousands for the next round of treatment, and anything after that, too. But, I put this to my clients - wouldn’t it be great to have done everything in your power to optimise your health prior to the first round of IVF, to maximise your chances of a positive result? The very real reality is that IVF treatment is not just a financial burden, there is a huge physiological and psychological load to go through, and it can take its toll. Investing in specialist fertility nutrition is not only going to optimise your chances of conception but also, a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby and also your long-term health and wellbeing.
Quite simply, there is nothing to lose by investing in your health, and the gains are lifelong for you, and for your family.
How quickly can I see results?
Sometimes very quickly. Understanding yourself, your unique physiology and giving your body what it needs to heal and flourish can be very powerful. Sometimes it takes a while, but change and improvement are possible. For fertility, remember that it takes three months to grow a follicle and almost the same time for sperm to mature. I would therefore advise that fertility nutrition is given a three month window of attention at the absolute minimum.
Can you guarantee results? Do you have success rates?
There are no guarantees. But there are many possibilities and I see this in my work all the time. My role is to educate you, but you must then commit to making changes and taking action. I understand that it can be difficult to change habits and routines but by being open to all that’s new and possible you can create many healing opportunities for your body.
Can I overcome problems that I have had for a long time - for example, if my diagnosis is infertility?
Nutritional Therapy is about finding the root cause of your symptoms and then supporting your body to heal. Some health concerns might take longer than others to heal but in applying a holistic whole-body approach to your issues there is an opportunity to treat the specific problem that is holding you back and to heal.
Do I need to invest in private testing?
We will discuss your individual needs at the consultation. Sometimes it is wise to dig deeper and use testing to provide a more thorough method of support or to understand more about the specifics of both your symptoms and what’s causing them. Testing is never a MUST. I will provide you with as much information as I can, and I will make recommendations which sometimes may include testing - but, all protocol is decided by you.
Do you do presentations to groups?
Yes, I would be delighted to give presentations to groups or businesses. I teach and lecture nutrition students at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Manchester, and I have contributed features and commentary to the media and press on various areas of nutritional therapy. Please email your enquiry here.
